if anybody on here uses itunes, leave me a comment with your email address and I will send you 2 free downloads. I got them when I bought two tickets to Melissa Etheridge but I don't use itunes so they do me no good and I don't want them to be wasted.

Anyone who wants to see the wedding photos, here they are:

http://community.webshots.com/user/svanco

The videos are crap but I'm in the process of trying to post them on youtube where they will hopefully be better quality (since they are really great quality on my computer, just crap on webshots).

Also, after seeing all the awesome photos I took, if anyone wants to hire a wedding photographer I am available ;)

So... big day today.
First of all, of course, it is Catherine's birthday. Yay happy birthday Catherine!
And today was also my sister (Laura)'s wedding day.
We went down to Alfred last night and stayed in a hotel, went to a sort of pre-wedding dinner (pizza at Laura and Ian's house) for a while, then made some corsages and boutinniers and watched a movie after everyone else left.
This morning we got up at 6:30 and went over to Laura and Ian's house to help people get ready. I didn't really help, I just wanted to be a part of it. I sat and watched while Laura was getting her hair done. Then I went back to the hotel to get myself ready and to get our room cleaned out (and to wake Jordan up). Laura and the rest of the bridal party came over to the hotel a little after 10 to get Laura in her wedding dress. So we did that then went to go take some pre-wedding pictures over by this castle thing.
The ceremony started at noon, and it was short and sweet. Then there were formal pictures, and then the reception. It was really nice, the cake Laura made was really fantastic.
Overall it was a great wedding. Even the weather held out really well despite the prediction of thunderstorms.
I'm trying to load my pictures onto the computer right now and it's NOT working. I took a full 2gb card full and that one transferred but I took another set of pictures on a different card and I keep getting error messages. I will have to try later with the cord...
We're gonna go watch a movie now so I'm going to go.

So I just bought concert tickets (again)...

Melissa Etheridge, June 28 in Albany. Jordan and I are going to go down and stay with my sister (who has an internship in Albany for the summer) and go see her in an awesome historical theater.
We got the fifth row back on the balcony. Pretty damn good seats.

It's so nice to be an adult and have a job and have that novel concept called "disposable income". Almost makes up for the "no summer vacation" thing.

Elton John
Catherine and I are officially going to go see Elton John in VT in July!

Getting tickets was NO FUN for sure, but now that that part of it is done with I'm so excited.

We have really good seats too. I sat on the computer at work trying to get through on the website for TWO HOURS (I did some work too while I was at my desk)... we got in one of the three sections right in front of the stage. By the time I got home from work everything except the bleachers in the way back were sold out. So we were definitely lucky.

Anyway I can't wait!

So the tattoo artist I wanted to see is not going to be in for the next two weeks... I guess I will have to wait if I want to see him. Bah. I was all set to go today too. I guess I can't be upset though, they said he had a family emergency, so I will just have to be a little more patient.

Today on the radio I heard the song Bang a Gong (Get it On).
Not once...
Not twice...
No, THREE TIMES in the SAME MORNING.
The first one was a cover, then I heard the original on the same radio station a few hours later. Then on the way home I turned on a different radio station, and there was T. Rex again.

Strange...

Also, the new raspberry 3 Musketeers are interesting but nowhere near as good as the mint kind.

Damn CSI repeats on Spike. I want them to play ones I haven't seen recently!
I'm bored, if you can't tell.
I have to get my taxes done very soon. It's just the whole process of making an appointment and going in... Last year I just walked in with no appointment and they were able to take me right away, but I doubt I would be that lucky two years in a row. I could do my own, but that'd be a lot harder. It was definitely worth it last year to pay someone else to do it instead of me, it was so easy. One of my colleagues actually told me he did his own taxes. Completely by himself. As in no program or anything, he actually read the tax code and completed it that way.
If you knew him it wouldn't surprise you.
Sophie just made that cooing noise cats make, right behind my head. I didn't realize she was behind my head til she made it.
Yesterday Jordan went to Starbucks and found the new k.d.lang cd I've been wanting. Crazy, because I actually went to Best Buy looking for it and they didn't have it, so go figure they had it in a place that stocks like 5 different cds. But I'm glad I have it. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but it's pretty much the same as her other stuff. Very relaxing, and she has a beautiful voice. Also, it was worth the price of the cd for the pictures in the insert.
Just kidding!
Sort of.

One more thing.

I can't freaking wait until Indiana Jones comes out.
May 22!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day...
It kind of sucked here.
Started off pretty good, Jordan and I exchanged little presents in the morning. He got me some fancy chocolates and I got him the Thriller 25th anniversary CD.
Then it got annoying. I let him borrow my car to go get his prescription, but after much running around and calling the doctor, and realizing that his insurance had run out Jan 31 not Feb 18 like his dad had claimed.... well.... he still doesn't have it, and we're both pretty irritated with the situation. And so now he doesn't feel good because he hasn't had it in a few days, and so he isn't making me a romantic V-day dinner (note that this is where I would pout if I was the type to pout).
But it will be okay tomorrow maybe.
This weekend is Justeena's birthday party. She's been 3 for a while now but they had to wait til after the superbowl to have her party for some reason. It'll be good to go to Niagara Falls, it's been a while since I've been there now. I work too much!

Sophie has two valentines. She's scandalous. All the boy cats want her hot gray ass.

We bought this super lightweight, environmentally friendly cat litter. Today I put it in Sophie's box. It's still little rocks, but they are white, and it smells lemony.

Sophie, who naturally keeps an eye on me as I clean her litter box, stared at it when I set it down. She sniffed it, and then continued to stare. Eventually I went upstairs to give her privacy, but she followed me and didn't use it. Maybe she just didn't have to go, but now I'm a little worried that she thinks it smells/looks/feels funny and she's not gonna use it. :-/

I am watching America's Best Dance Crew on MTV, and although it is pretty awesome to watch all those really skilled dancers, I'm a little pissed about it.

There is this one team, called Femme5, made up entirely of scantily-clad girls. They're pretty good dancers, sure, but you have to be to be on the show. They're not really much better than the dancers I saw at Julia's recitals. They're certainly not of the same caliber of the other dance crews on this show. Yet with their boring routine, overly sexual moves and skanky clothes, somehow twice now they've continued on to the next episode instead of far more talented crews. And it's not just me either, you can hear the audience's dismay every time they get through, you can definitely hear much louder cheering for the other teams than for this team.

What the fuck?

Thanks MTV for continuing to reinforce the universal truth that a good body and willingness to show it off always trumps actual skill.

Today I worked all morning... then came home expecting sophie to run up to me looking for her daily wet food as usual. Instead I heard her causing a ruckus in the basement. Eventually Sophie (and the ruckus) moved up the stairs but she stayed there, and I didn't understand why she wasn't coming to get her food, so I looked over and saw her staring intently at something, moving around to see it from different angles. I thought for a split second that she was trying to get something horrible, like a centipede, so I peered very carefully over the stairs and saw a tiny little sparrow! I yelled for Jordan and he came down and grabbed the bird while I got Sophie and locked her in our bedroom. We put the sparrow outside and after it sat there for a minute recovering from its shock, it flew away. I don't think Sophie touched it, she was just staring at it, not knowing what to make of it, the big chicken.

After that excitement, I sat down and composed an email to a technician I've become friends with at work, telling him the truth about me and Jordan. Up to this point, no one at work knew I was gay. He's only one person, but he's the one I'm the closest to, so I'm really relieved to have done that. He was really understanding about it, and now I can't wait for us to spend some time with him and his wife and the other couple they always spend time with (I've been to their house and stuff by myself but it's not the same when you're sort of friends but still keeping secrets). Even after living here for a year and a half I don't feel like I've made any friends, so this is a huge deal to me and I can't wait to go out as a couple, with other couples, and feel normal again not like I am having to keep stuff from people.

After that, I went to sleep and when we got up we went out on a nice date, to Olive Garden (where I had seriously the best thing I've EVER had there- herb grilled salmon), and then to see the movie The Eye. I kind of thought I wouldn't like it that much, and I mostly went because I knew Jordan really wanted to see it, but I actually really enjoyed it. It wasn't just scary to be scary, it really had an excellent plot and a good ending. It is a remake, but I hadn't seen the original. Now we are just hanging out at home, I'm online (obviously) and he's playing tony hawk. Maybe we will go to wegmans in a bit.

Hey everybody, happy super tuesday.

How long does it take to get the results of the primaries? I want to know who wins... Not that new york is really in question

Ew ants on tv. I hate ants.

I guess I have nothing good to say I just wanted to update to get livejournal going again. Jordan, me, now Catherine-- yay for us.

Less than 24 hours before I'm supposed to be on a plane to Charlotte, then Orlando.

I'm printing EVERYTHING. You can check-in on the Internet now, so I have our boarding passes. I have a printout of our whole itinerary, two copies of all our activity vouchers, and a full copy of all the rules and restrictions from our travel insurance (an excellent idea after the Pirate festival in Alex bay turned into a weekend in the hospital). But the boarding passes make it real. I don't know HOW we're going to sleep tonight.

We're taking Sophie up to Niagara Falls today, leaving her with Cleo and the kittens-- poor Sophie. But it's better than the alternative, to be boarded somewhere.

I hope that everything works out with the flights and all... I'm nervous that something will be late or a connection will be missed... etc. But we have the trip insurance so that helps.
I think for our next vacation I will pay more for a direct flight. If I can.

I got myself a set of pink luggage. :) I'm hoping it'll cut my chances of stuff getting lost, and make it easier to find when it comes around on the conveyor belt. Also, when you see pink luggage, you just kind of have to buy it, or else you may never see it again.

Anyway, I better get going. There's still things to do before we leave here. If you want a postcard, send me your address in a text message :) Other than that, we'll be in the sunny Land of the Mouse for the next week, so see you guys later! :-D

Here's some pictures I took of my new car that aren't just the stock photo from the dealership... enjoy! (Because I will)

sexy mustang

THAT is sitting in front of our house right now :-D
Yep, I just went right out and did it. Traded in the damn sunfire (after talking about it for long enough) and I'm back in the land of the mustang

It's an '06 originally from Hawaii, where it was a rental car before getting shipped up here. It's in great shape and is totally loaded. So many cool features, I haven't even discovered them yet.

It's got a song already-- Saturday Night's All Right (for Fighting). It was playing as we walked into the dealership and I think it's an appropriately fun and tough song. Now it needs a name. I thought I'd stay with the pirate themes but I'm not sure of what I will pick for this one now that Anne Bonny and Mary Read are used up.

Anyway I just wanted to share that with you all :) hooray for mustangs :-D

My car broke down yesterday. Kicked it right in the Tops parking lot after we'd run a bunch of errands. I had to have the damn thing towed away and take a cab home. It's better now... $400 later...

But I decided I've had it with that stupid car breaking and being ugly. I have an appointment to test drive an 06 mustang tomorrow at six pm. I found it online and it's pretty much everything I want in a car, so we'll see how the appointment tomorrow goes... But I'd really love to trade in this blah sunfire for something so beautiful.

I actually just called the loan office and realized I owe a lot less than I thought I owed... a mere $1700. The car is totally worth more than that, so I can use part of it as a down payment.

Anyway I just wanted to update with that. I'll keep you guys posted with what happens :)

PS if anybody has had any good/bad experiences with Vision Ford in Greece, let me know! A pharmacist I know bought a car there a while back and he said it was all right, but if anybody has anything else to say I'd appreciate knowing.
